Frequently asked questions

How does Career Engine find matches?

You upload a résumé and set a Focus (target titles, locations, seniority range). Career Engine continuously screens new job postings against your résumé's actual skills, experience level, and role fit — not just a keyword match on the title, and scores each one 0–100 with a full explanation.

How is my résumé data protected?

Contact details extracted from your résumé (name, email, phone) are stored in an encrypted envelope, not as plain text — each record is encrypted with its own key, and that key is itself encrypted with a master key kept outside the database. A database-only breach yields ciphertext, not readable personal data.

Do you share my profile with employers?

No. Career Engine has no employer marketplace and does not share your résumé, contact details, or profile with any third-party employer or recruiter. Matches are delivered privately to you.

How much does it cost?

Career Engine is free — every account gets 2 search profiles at no cost. Need more? Additional profiles are $5/mo each, added inline from the Profiles page whenever you need one.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. If you've added any $5/mo extra profiles, cancel that subscription anytime from your account's billing settings, effective at the end of the current billing period — your free 2 profiles are unaffected either way.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Deleting your résumé removes its encrypted contact-data record along with it. Product-usage activity logs (used only for support/troubleshooting) are retained for approximately 30 days on a rolling basis and then automatically pruned.

Is Career Engine available now?

Career Engine is in private beta. Sign up to get started — new accounts are provisioned automatically.
