Lead enterprise CAE systems strategy and virtual testing infrastructure serving automotive, powersports, and power equipment product development globally.
- The Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Software & System Design Sr. Engineer II is responsible for projects, system enhancements and portfolio support of the CAE Systems.
- This includes tools, methods, and processes necessary for the virtual testing and performance verification of today’s advanced products, including Automotive, Power Sp¬¬orts, and Power Equipment.
- The Software & System Design Sr. Engineer II collaborates with product development business stakeholders and with Enterprise IT Services to develop, implement and support virtual testing applications, verification management systems and High Performance Compute (HPC) systems, including Cloud based solutions.
- The ideal candidate for this position will provide direction, technical leadership and lead projects working with North American Business teams, Japan IT teams and global outsourcing vendors. Coordination with other New Model Development Systems department IT teams is critical to implement and support integrations with engineering tools such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Testing Systems.
- The Software & System Design Sr. Engineer II is expected to serve as the technical resource for CAE tools when collaborating with other AHM IT Units/Teams and HDMA function group users.
Key Accountabilities
- Tactical / Task
Responsible for tools and processes within assigned CAE team. o Define system and application support metrics and use such metrics to monitor support quality and performance. o Implement measures to meet quality and performance goals. o Coach junior engineers in their effort to provide support for their assigned solutions.
