Designer - Exhaust Systems

The PHES (Propulsion-HVAC & Engine Systems) Senior Designer position is for a highly skilled and experienced designer for the Propulsion HVAC and Engine Systems Design Services team. The candidate will use NX CAD to perform packaging, concepts, designs, layouts and checking of Engine System components including, but not limited to the following: Routing and development for the exhaust systems (hot end, cold end, etc.), and air induction systems, (air boxes, ducts, hoses, engine covers, etc.),

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creation of explicit geometry, including use of parametric modeling.
• Completion of advanced packaging feasibility studies.
• Completion of manufacturability and/or feasibility studies.
• Packaging assessments of new components / systems (i.e. Air Induction, Cooling, HVAC, Fuels, and Exhaust systems, etc.).
• Working with engineers to complete manufacturing/service studies.
• Redesign models and complex assemblies to improve design quality.
• Commonization studies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in design / engineering or related area of study and relevant training / experience in design or engineering field.
• Minimum of 7 years of design experience including 7 years of experience in NX or Catia (basic skills test may be administered)
• Extensive experience with NX parametric solid modeling and Teamcenter
• Strong written and oral communications to lead design and packaging meetings
• Strong organization, planning, and data management skills
• Ability to create designs per engineering standards
• NX Mechanical Routing
• Ability to understand, create, and interpret 2D drawings, 3D models and apply tolerancing
• 0-20% travel, domestic and international
