As a Machine Maintenance and Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in maximizing machine availability in a highly demanding and changing experimental environment. You will coordinate maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and integration work, building clear work plans across teams and shifts while partnering with technician shift managers, operators, and engineers from across the organization.

  • Identify conflicts, surface risks, and bring the right people into decisions
  • Assess how proposed work affects configuration, access, operations, and other scheduled work
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • 4+ years planning and coordinating maintenance, modifications, or upgrades in a complex operating facility, taking work from request through scope, readiness, scheduling, execution, and closeout
  • Hands-on experience in a shipyard, power plant, nuclear facility, large-scale experiment, or similar setting
  • Familiarity with high-voltage, vacuum, or pulsed power systems
  • Strong first-principles and structured problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of LOTO, work permits, and MOC on equipment with significant stored energy
  • Experience building or improving preventive maintenance plans and using equipment history to find reliability problems
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work with engineers and technicians on installation, testing, and maintainability requirements
  • Experience reviewing, approving, and scheduling work, resolving competing requests, and building consensus across teams
  • Formal work control, work authorization, or configuration management experience
  • Experience planning outages, commissioning, or integration tests on operating equipment
  • Experience building a work planning or maintenance process that scales across facilities or devices
