Lead the team scaling metrology/inspection systems for Tesla's 4680 battery cell factories, driving line ramps from pilot to high-volume manufacturing in a 24/7 environment.
What to Expect The Global Metrology Systems Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Manager to oversee the GFTX team operations and drive excellence in manufacturing high-quality products by scaling Tesla metrology/inspection systems that make up the Tesla Battery Cell and Energy factories, manufacturing our groundbreaking 4680 battery cells at high speed.
In this dynamic role, you'll lead a world-class team of engineers and technicians, collaborating cross-functionally with global teams, operations, engineering, production, maintenance, and design to develop and scale up various robust metrology/inspection systems from the ground up.
Your focus will be on operational excellence, production readiness, and Industry 4.0 transformation of metrology systems across manufacturing environments, fostering continuous improvement, and performance management of the team. You will drive installation, commissioning, line ramps, and continuous improvement through structured problem solving and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex challenges, optimizing metrology processes, and mentoring others, coupled with the drive for relentless improvement in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
