Safety Engineering Manager, AWS Health & Safety

We are looking for a manager for the Health and Safety (H&S) Engineering team who will be responsible for driving a strategic approach to delivering high-level engineering services for the AWS Safety team, strategic team leadership and development, setting and driving team vision and objectives, mentoring and growing safety engineer talent, managing team performance and career development

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated manager with a solid knowledge in safety engineering, and a proven track record of designing, deploying, and managing global safety engineering programs. They will have a history of building partnerships with diverse teams across multiple jurisdictions. The candidate must have the ability to define clear requirements in ambiguity, proactively educate team members, leaders, and other support teams, and communicate effectively and consistently throughout all levels of the business. The role will evolve with the maturity and growth of the program and requires a high degree of flexibility, including the ability to deep dive into time critical programs and projects, manage a team of safety engineers, and deliver continuous improvement actions.
