Nutanix is seeking a Senior Manager of Commodity Management to lead our dynamic Supply Base team. In this high-impact role, you will define and drive technology roadmaps and global commodity strategies for Server and Storage Product components, including CPU, memory, SSD, HDD, and NIC technologies. Managing a $500M–$1B expenditure portfolio, you will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to optimize product costs through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and comprehensive risk mitigation. Join our growing Supply Base team! You will report to the Senior Director leading Life Cycle Management and Supply Base Management. The work setup for this role is to lead our Commodity Management Team. The role does involve travel, 2x per year to travel internationally
This position is responsible for Server – Storage Product commodities. Detailed understanding of CPU, memory, SSD, HDD, NIC, and server platforms (L6) components and technology is required. You will perform activities to significantly influence the Product Management, HW Eng, Product Operations, Quality, and other key peer groups alignment with commodity strategies based on subject matter expertise and knowledge of the industry.
Deep technical knowledge of server technology is required to influence HW eng and Product Management.
Define and drive technology roadmaps for key components is fundamental.
Understanding the market and how to navigate NX to provide the best solutions possible
Own the Product Cost. Cost reduction, avoidance, VE, etc.
Independently initiate and drive commodity strategies in close collaboration with HW eng, Product Management, Finance, and Operations
