This Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to partner with our Mapping Infrastructure Team . Our team manages infrastructure for Aurora’s “static map” (the Aurora Atlas ) and Aurora’s “dynamic map” (the Fleet Intelligence system).

• The Atlas is a versioned mapping system that supports continuous editing and periodic vehicle release process. This system allows massive validation and simulation batch workflows to ensure that our vehicles can safely navigate the world. The Atlas powers many key functions, from map update processes, test creation systems, offboard simulations, visualizations, and onboard perception and decision making. This system needs to scale dramatically to support aggressive map expansion targets.
• The Fleet Share system delivers dynamic data to vehicles continuously. This system ensures rapid delivery of critical data to our Fleet including: unexpected signs, weather events, and map anomalies detected by vehicles in our fleet. This system needs to scale to the 10’s of thousands of vehicles projected in the next couple of years.
