Brave is hiring 2 Software Engineer interns this fall from Waterloo University to assist adding AI, security and privacy features to our products.
Software Developer Co-op - Internship Role One
Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of data-intensive systems and AI-powered services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading structured and unstructured data across internal systems
- Develop backend services and tooling in Python and TypeScript to support data processing workflows and API integrations
- Integrate and optimize LLM inference pipelines, including prompt engineering, model serving, and evaluation of large language model outputs
- Deploy and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including writing manifests, configuring autoscaling, and troubleshooting cluster issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality, pipeline reliability, and system observability
Software Developer (Privacy) Co-op - Internship Role 2
Contribute to the design, development, and shipping of privacy and security features in the Brave browser (based on Chromium), bringing cutting-edge protections to 115M+ users without breaking the Web.
