Lead and support startup, commissioning, and turnover of large industrial mechanical and chemical systems (chilled water, compressed air, boilers, HVAC, dust collection), owning performance from design review through installation, startup, and steady-state operationsDevelop, review, and execute startup plans, commissioning procedures, pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and system turnover packagesTroubleshoot and resolve field mechanical issues across hydraulics, pneumatics, thermal systems, rotating equipment, ducting/piping, and associated utilitiesPartner with controls, electrical, facilities operations, construction, and vendors to meet operational, safety, and reliability requirementsDrive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for performance, reliability, and capacity issues; optimize systems for reliability, energy efficiency, capacity, and maintainability, and execute improvement projectsReview engineering designs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, submittals, and sequences of operation for large utility and process-support systemsDevelop and maintain system documentation, including operating procedures, one-line/P&ID redlines, commissioning records, and as-builtsSupport safe work practices during construction, startup, and operations (LOTO, tryout, energized work coordination, and management of change)Provide initial technical system training for operations and maintenance teams, and technical leadership during major outages, tie-ins, and capacity expansion projectsPerform hands-on work in varied environments (heat, cold, rain, tight quarters); work extended hours and weekends as needed; lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
