Staff Quality Engineer
Position Overview: As a member of the Quality Engineering group, the Staff Quality Engineer will support the manufacturing teams as issues arise and will be a key contributor to project teams responsible for supplier quality improvements, production quality improvements, product development quality improvements, cost reductions and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities: Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
- Provide support to production on quality and reliability issues
- Support the evaluation and selection of global best-in-class suppliers
- Drive continuous improvement and corrective action processes with existing supplier base
- Represent Quality Organization in the development of new products and enhancements to new products
- Apply appropriate statistical tools to support process, material, and product quality standards
- Develop and contribute to development and maintenance of policies, practices and standards
Data Analysis
- Provide data intelligence to help drive continuous improvement and business decisions
- Use Excel and QuickSight BI (Business Intelligence) to analyze data for the quality group
- Maintain thorough understanding of business data gathering process and data eco-system
Field Product Quality
- Manage issue investigation and response
- Develop and drive corrective action plan
- Thoughtfully respond to customer complaints related to product quality
Quality Systems
- Support and maintain ISO 9001 certification through daily work activities
- All employees are obligated to be aware of the company Quality Objectives and Quality Policy
Leadership
- Represent Quality on cross functional teams to resolve customer (internal & external) quality issues and improve processes
- Mentor and train junior Quality Engineers
- May assist with hiring Quality Engineers
- May assist with performance evaluations
