Job DescriptionTesla Laboratories is seeking a Structural Engineer to support Design Technical Support (DTS) services for the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Northwest (NAVFAC NW), Planning Design and Construction Directorate, Design Division (PDC4). This position supports the existing NAVFAC workforce and provides increased capability for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects and associated efforts undertaken by NAVFAC Northwest customers within the NAVFAC Northwest Area of Responsibility (Puget Sound area).
Perform structural engineering tasks, including:
? Structural analysis and design of building vertical and lateral force resisting systems, retaining structures, utility structures, and waterfront structures (piers, wharves, etc.) using DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) or industry codes and standards, including the International Building Code (IBC) and ASCE 7 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures.
? Design of structural elements using common building materials (concrete, steel, and masonry).
In addition, the Structural Engineer will:
? Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, create/manage schedules, and track/brief budget execution in conformance with project and customer requirements.
? Create project technical dashboard reports via Microsoft software (Power BI, Project, Excel, etc.).
? Facilitate the minimization of project delays by providing technical reviews and recommendations within predetermined timeframes.
