Tax Specialist

• Manage and ensure timely filing of sales and use tax, excise tax, and 1099 reporting across multiple states.
• Monitor tax filing deadlines and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, explaining complex indirect tax matters (sales/use, payroll) in a clear and accessible manner.
• Provide tailored guidance on compliance requirements, deadlines, and best practices.
• Conduct training sessions to improve the team's understanding of indirect tax compliance.
• Develop training materials and resources to enhance onboarding and continuous learning for team members.
• Maintain up-to-date sales tax rates for state and local entities using proprietary software.
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and ensure timely updates to compliance processes.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of indirect tax compliance.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the company and external tax advisors, providing necessary documentation and data.
• Share insights and updates with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provide tax guidance on business transactions, acquisitions, and expansions.
• Assist in various international tax planning activities including tax research, estimated tax forecasts, and other projects involving a high degree of complexity
• Prepare and maintain tax workpapers, schedules, and documentation for audits.
• Respond to IRS, state, and local tax notices, ensuring resolution of any disputes.
• Other duties as required.
