Responsibilities :
- Oversee the preparation and review of technical accounting memos for complex, significant and non-standard transactions according with US GAAP and applicable local statutory standards (IFRS).
- Partner cross-functionally with Controllership, Finance and corporate business partners (FP&A, Tax, Treasury, GPSC, Legal) in analyzing transactions, determining accounting treatment and the proper financial reporting based on GM’s Chart of Accounts (CoA).
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial reporting information submitted to the SEC reporting team to support Form 10-Q and Form 10-K disclosures.
- Drive the modernization of existing processes by collaborating closely with regional Controllership teams, sharing insights, providing technical accounting guidance, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
- Facilitate and influence the implementation of global accounting policies updates by reviewing, communicating and proposing critical changes to be incorporated into the Corporate Circular Letters (CCL), collaborating closely with regional Controllership.
- Effectively communicate technical accounting analysis to regional leaders and key partners
- Collaborate on training for regional Controllership teams related to new or change accounting policies.
