What to Expect We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Fleet Test Engineer to join our Vehicle Hardware Validation Team. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across various vehicle programs to ensure that our vehicles meet the highest performance and reliability standards. You will be responsible for deploying newly developed vehicles in real-world scenarios, identifying product failures, and driving corrective actions to guarantee the long-term success of Tesla vehicles. What You’ll Do
- Work in close collaboration with reliability and engineering program teams on determining the scope of in-territory vehicle validation
- Conduct vehicle retrofits, shakedowns and instrumentation, as well as vehicle preparation in close collaboration with vehicle technicians
- Setup vehicle can recording as well as data generated from additional sensors
- Analyze and process test data and check for data integrity
- Work in close collaboration with in-house or third-party operators to execute the test in different test locations
- Conduct vehicle milestone inspections including drive evaluations (handling performance, ride comfort etc.) and investigate test failures
- Support firmware upgrades/troubleshooting and diagnostics for test vehicles
- Work in close collaboration with reliability and design teams to triage countermeasures and design changes
- Write and publish detailed test reports
- Work in close collaboration with other vehicle test engineers to develop proving ground and lab test procedures for best field correlation
