In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our procurement categories to drive cost savings and improve operational efficiencies. Manage and optimize procurement categories, including but not limited to, aircraft parts, fuel, and ground handling services. Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential suppliers. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality of goods and services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and legal to ensure alignment and compliance with company policies and procedures. Monitor and analyze category performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address any issues. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in procurement and category management. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Provide guidance and support to junior category managers and other team members. Represent American Airlines in meetings and negotiations with suppliers and other external stakeholders.
