Engineer, ME Design

The Design Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for Honda Aircraft Company products. This role works closely with Engineering during product development to ensure producibility, define efficient build processes, develop tooling requirements, and support continuous improvement throughout manufacturing operations. Key Accountabilities Take ownership of all production process definition and implementation for assigned aircraft (A/C) areas Identify, review, and approve tooling required for assigned A/C areas, including root cause analysis of tooling‑related nonconformances Review and approve Engineering drawings and models to ensure manufacturability of parts, assemblies, and installations Review major Engineering and router changes with the shop floor at the start of the respective position Create and revise installation build plans for new or revised engineering Manage all Design for Manufacturability (DFM) requests for assigned A/C areas, including internal and external submissions Review and approve Change Requests (CRs), assessing production impacts and coordinating across departments Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace preferred) 5+ years of relevant manufacturing or design engineering experience Required Skills & Experience Manufacturing or directing manufacturing of detail parts, assemblies, and installations Assembly process definition for complex aerostructures (composite and metallic) Sheet metal fabrication experience (hand forming, brake, hydro‑form, hot forming, SPF, stretch forming) Tube and duct manufacturing experience (bending, forming, welding) Knowledge of chemical and physical processing (heat treating, priming, painting, anodizing, NDT, etc.) Proven ability to define fabrication, assembly, and installation tooling 2D/3D drawing reviews for manufacturability Strong GD&T knowledge CATIA…
