How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Data Engineer, Flight Safety Analytics will help advance the Flight Safety organization supporting our Data and Decision Science team. This role will play a critical part in building and maintaining robust data pipelines to enable innovative solutions that derive actionable insights from complex aircraft and human-reported operational data. Empowering the application of machine learning models and artificial intelligence to solve complex business challenges.

• Data Pipeline Development: design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from diverse sources, including aircraft and human reported operational data.
• Data Readiness and Cleanliness; Ensure data is clean accurate, and well-structured for use by the Data and Decision Science teams, performing data validation and quality checks as needed.
• Data Accessibility: Enable seamless access to data for analysis, modeling and reporting, ensuring data is readily available in appropriate formats and systems.
• Data Maintenance: Monitor and maintain data pipelines to ensure consistent performance, reliability, and scalability, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Data Governance: Adhere to data governance policies, ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including proper documentation of data processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Data and Decision Scientist to understand data requirements and provide tailored data solutions to support machine learning and AI-driven insights.
• Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for data pipelines, processes, and workflows to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
