This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

At Blue Origin, you’ll apply your technical expertise and leadership to shape the future of space exploration. As an Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the New Glenn Rocket program, collaborating with a skilled team to design, develop, and qualify mission-critical mechanical engineering work with the umbilicals team , enabling reliable and reusable spaceflight to advance our vision of millions living and working in space.

You will create engineering documentation including schematics, requirements, design reviews, bills of materials, and other deliverables. You will use 3D CAD programs (Creo), product lifecycle management tools (Windchill), and possibly Finite Element Analysis programs (ANSYS) to design and analyze the system. You will use creative thinking and novel manufacturing solutions to solve sophisticated problems with high pressure, cryogenic, and highly stressed hardware. You will deliver completed designs using ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards along with clear and well documented analysis reports. Following the design efforts, you will lead and participate in component and system level testing and data analysis. You will need to be hands-on and prepared to personally engage in supplier/operations planning and oversight.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
