Mechatronics Summer Intern

Help improve the performance of KLA's inspection and metrology tools by working on mechatronics design projects alongside engineers during Summer 2027 in Ann Arbor.
Job Description KLA is seeking Mechatronics Interns for Summer 2027 at our Ann Arbor, Michigan location. This internship offers the opportunity to collaborate with engineering teams to enhance the performance and capabilities of KLA’s inspection and metrology tools.
Interns will contribute to projects involving the design and development of hardware and/or software systems to evaluate mechatronics performance. You’ll work alongside other interns and engineers on a focused component of a larger initiative. Commonly used tools include python, CAD, and FEA.
Desired qualifications/education (skills & experience): Ideal candidates will have academic or hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- CAD design
- Control systems
- Finite element analysis
- python scripting
- Data acquisition/visualization
Experience or interest in hardware design is a plus. Strong analytical skills are essential. We are especially interested in candidates who plan to return to graduate school in Fall 2027 to complete a master’s degree.
Minimum Qualifications Requires less than 1 year of related experience
Total Rewards Base Pay Range: $27.00 - $38.50 per hour based on pursuit of a Bachelors and Masters Primary Location: USA-MI-Ann Arbor-KLA
