Sr. Systems Engineer — Lunar Human Landing System (HLS)
Blue Origin · Seattle, WA · Posted 22 days ago
Lead systems engineering for Blue Origin's Lunar Human Landing System, owning the technical baseline that gets astronauts safely to the Moon and back.
This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will help define Blue Origin's Human Landing System (HLS) — the lander that will carry astronauts to the surface of the Moon and return them safely to Orion. On the System Definition & Certification team you work across requirements, system safety, verification & validation, and certification — the instruments we use to prove the vehicle is safe to fly crew. You will serve as a senior systems engineer across a major area of the vehicle — owning the requirements, safety, and verification baseline, setting technical direction, and mentoring the engineers around you. We favor lean, tool-driven workflows over moving data by hand, and we would rather build the tool that removes the busywork than staff it.
